Patras is linked by ferry to the Italian ports of (south to north) Brindisi, Bari, Ancona and Venice with numerous sailings daily year-round (schedules) . The Italian ferries go to the New Port which is about 4 kilometers from the city center. There is a bus (tickets cost 1.40 Euro) from the port to the main bus terminal and city center however it is sporadic and has no fixed time table. There is a taxi stand at the new port.

From new port to race area
Arriving in Patra’s port you have to take the eastern exit to Akti Dimaion av. After 1,1 km reaching Papaflessa str, you have to turn left and immediately right. You will find the service area after 1,2 km on your right (map)
The nearest international airport is Athens International airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. It is possible to travel to Patra in various means of transport, including, train, bus and car.
Athens – Patra by bus
Suburban buses (KTEL) to Patra depart from Kifissos Station in Athens almost every hour (schedule). The cost of the ticket is 20,70 euros one way and 32 euros round trip. The trip takes about 2,5 hours
The airport is connected to Kifissos Station by bus, No 093 which run every few minutes 24/7 (schedule) and it takes about 50 minutes to reach the bus station. The bus station is located between exit 4 and 5 at the arrivals level. The cost of the ticket for the bus, is 6 euros (pricing). If you take a taxi from the airport to Kifissos Station it will cost about 40-45 euros during day and about 55-60 euros during night hours.
Athens – Patra by train
The Suburban Railway (proastiakos) depart from the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport in Athens to Patra every 09’ from, 06:09 to 19:09 (schedule).
This unfortunately is not a direct line. You have to change train in Acharnes station and take the train to Kiato station. There you have to change again and take the bus (which will wait for you) to Patra.. The itinerary takes 3 hours. The one way cost is 20 euros. The Suburban Railway to Patra is under construction and it is probable that some changes may occur till May 2019. We will keep you informed.
Athens – Patra by car
There are several companies where you can rent a car at “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport in Athens (car rental companies). From there you have to take “Attiki odos” to “Elefsis interchange” that will take you directly to ‘Olympia odos” to Patra. The distance from Eleftherios Venizelos” airport in Athens to the port of Patra is 240 km and will take you 2,5 hours to reach Patra in a brand new highway. The toll rates for Vehicles with or without a trailer and a height up to 2,20m is 14,40 euros.
Flights directly to Patra
The city of Patra has a small airport that works from May to October. This airport is located about 40 km from the city center, in the region of Araxos. It receives few charters and low cost flights from abroad.
You can reach Patra by bus (the cost of the ticket is 3,7 euros) or taxi (will cost about 55-60 euros). From Araxos airport you can also rent a car to drive to Patra (no tolls in this road).
Patra is located in the northeastern corner of the Peloponnese. You can reach Patra crossing Serbia and F.Y.R.of Macedonia and entering Greece in Evzonoi. From there you have to follow A1 until reaching “Egnatia Odos” to Ioannina and then the A5 to Antirio. Crossing the Rio-Antirio bridge you will arrive to Patra. The distance from Evzonoi to Patra is 508 km. The toll rates for Vehicles with or without a trailer and a height up to 2,70m is 34 euros. If the hight is more than 2,70 m the the toll rate is 86 euros. The price per liter for gasoline is 1,65 euros and for diesel 1,45 euros
